She studied pottery and sculpture at the Flint Institute of Arts. She also studied weaving under Christeen Maier. She mainly focuses upon clay sculptures and the making of hand-made paper out of cotton, milkweed, flower petals, cattails and other fibrous plants.
Sally’s handmade paper “shield” collages and her wonderful porcelain masks have been exhibited extensively throughout the world. In honor of the Embassy Arts Program, Sally, along with 300 other honorees, was invited to the White House by Laura Bush.
Her wonderful work is exhibited throughout the United States, Canada, Russia and France, and her art is also in private collections.
